Corzine cuts N.J. Democratic campaign contributions

TRTENTON, N.J. (AP) - May 6, 2010

The Star-Ledger and The Record Statehouse Bureau finds /*Jon Corzine*/'s fiancee and four multimillionaire former colleagues who worked with Corzine at Goldman Sachs have stopped donating.

Corzine also stopped contributions to candidates in 13 congressional districts facing election in November.

Corzine spokesman Josh Zeitz says the former governor "hasn't taken his wallet and gone home." Zeitz says Corzine is checking whether pay-to-play orders he signed as governor pose a conflict with his new role as CEO of the financial firm MF Global Holdings.

Records show Corzine gave nearly $7 million to the New Jersey Democratic State Committee, legislative candidates and political action committees from 1999 to 2009.
