Store sells trendy clothes for less than $18

PAOLI, Pa. - May 28, 2010

Store Owner Julia Brufke-Wenger discovered a Heavenly Couture store while visiting California with her four daughters. They all fell in love with the store's concept: trendy clothes for $17.95 or less.

"I recognized some of the brands from some of the stores in our area that were much more high-end and we just had a ball," Brufke-Wenger says. "It was like a treasure hunt, going through the store trying to find things that we really loved. And I thought nobody's really doing this on the East Coast and it's just such a great concept."

And so, she brought the concept East -- first opening seasonal stores at the Jersey shore, and then year-round shops at the King of Prussia Mall and in Paoli.

"This was a godsend to me," Brufke-Wenger says. "I thought it might be less expensive to open a store than to keep buying at full-price for my kids. "

The racks are filled with brands like Glam, Romeo and Juliet, Classic and Lovestitch... With everything sundresses to skinny jeans to short shorts and even party dresses, along with accessories.

Shopper Marcy Schachinger of Phoenixville says she buys things at the stores for both her teen-aged daughter and herself.

"You can get everything from jeans to shorts to leggings and tops to dressy dresses that you could wear to formal events or fun parties," she says.

Over Memorial Day weekend, the Heavenly Couture stores will open for the season at 1328 Boardwalk in Ocean City, 9600 Ventnor Avenue in Margate and 9501 Third Avenue in Stone Harbor.

The stores in Paoli (33 Leopard Road) and at the King of Prussia Mall are open year-round.
