The accident happened at 61st and Passyunk in Southwest Philadelphia.
The woman, said to be in her 40's, was sitting at a red light when another car barreled into the back of her. The force of the collision pushed the woman's car into the intersection where it was hit by an oncoming vehicle.
The woman was ejected from her car and killed.
A man and woman from the other cars involved were taken to the hospital in critical condition. A third person from the original striking vehicle is also hospitalized in stable condition.
No word yet on any charges in this case.
