County police spokesman Cpl. Trinidad Navarro says the crash occurred at about 11 p.m. Saturday near West Newport Pike and Harding Avenue.
The officer was driving west on the road when the teenager pulled out of a bowling alley parking lot, into the path of the cruiser.
Navarro says both the officer and the boy were hospitalized with minor injuries. He says police cited the teen for failing to yield the right of way.
