Congressman Patrick Murphy made that announcement Monday at the Bristol Township Police Department.
The money comes from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, which contains more than $4 billion for law enforcement and criminal justice activities to prevent police layoffs.
The $458,000 can be used for a variety of efforts such as staffing, crime prevention, corrections and information sharing.
The announcement coincides with the start of National Police Week.
