Stubbs and 47-year-old John Benson are charged with robbery and attempted murder.
Prosecutors say they grabbed thousands of dollars in jewelry at the Platinum and Ice Jewelry Store then fled down South Street.
Police say Benson slashed the store owner's neck when he chased the pair.
Investigators say the two suspects then ran off and left their 4-year-old son standing the sidewalk.
