Applying for jobs at the Jersey Shore

OCEAN CITY - May 13, 2010

The Ocean City Chamber of Commerce says there are thousands of retail and municipal jobs to fill this season as the town's population balloons from 15,000 year round to 125,000 on any given summer day.

"We have beach taggers, we have life guards, part-time police, candy makers, t-shirt sellers, there's a wide opportunity here," Michelle Gillian of Ocean City Chamber of Commerce said.

The vast majority of summer job applicants are college-aged, but older people are also testing the water.

While some still like to come down and apply in person for jobs, it can be done online.
