A call came in for a vehicle in the bay near the Frank S. Farley State Marina around 1:00 a.m. Thursday.
Rescue divers went down, but quickly realized there was no one inside. Witnesses claim to have heard the truck go in, then a second vehicle speed away from the scene.
On Thursday afternoon workers returned to pull the truck out.
They attached air bags to it, then hooked it up to a tow truck to get it back on land.
Police are working now to track down the owner and figure out what happened.
