Poll: NJ voters split on Christie job performance

TRENTON, N.J. - May 25, 2010

Public employees definitely don't like what they see. Others are inclined to view him more favorably.

The Fairleigh Dickinson University PublicMind Poll released Tuesday finds 44 percent of voters approving of the way the Republican governor is doing his job and 42 percent disapproving.

The approval rating is essentially unchanged from FDU's March 30 poll, but the disapproval number is up 10 percentage points.

Public employee households disapprove of the governor by a 58-33 margin, while non-public employee households approve by 48-36.

The statewide telephone poll of 654 voters was conducted May 19-23 and has a sampling error margin of plus or minus 4 percentage points.
