British paper: Toddler smokes 40 cigs a day

May 26, 2010 -

His family tells "The Sun" newspaper in Britain that the child throws tantrums if he can't puff 40 cigarettes a day.

The paper reports the two-year-old got hooked after his dad, Mohammed, gave him a cigarette at 18 months.

The child weighs about 55 pounds, and The Sun reporter said he is too big to play with the other kids.

His mom told the paper: "He's totally addicted. If he doesn't get cigarettes, he gets angry and screams and batters his head against the wall. He tells me he feels dizzy and sick."

Officials have offered to buy the family a car if he quits.

His dad said: "He looks pretty healthy to me. I don't see the problem."
