Shawny Hill has been motivating fans since the 2006-07 season which was the worst in franchise history.
"Bunch of seats opened up, It was the first time that I saw people leave in that mass quantity early and felt like I had to do something," Shawny said.
So he decided to bust a move with some free style dancing and there's no real method to his madness.
"Honestly, I just do whatever I feel would be funny…there's no training or no real plan," Shawny said.
Hill grew up in Sewell, New Jersey, and is a 2009 graduate of Rowan University. He always dreamed of a career in sports. He may not make money doing this, but dancing during the third period of home games is certainly satisfying.
The 24-year-old says he sort of gets a hint from the team when it's show time.
"It's kind of obvious; I don't get a cue or anything, but I see a camera guy lugging up the steps and when he points it at me I start doing my thing and 20,000 people start flipping out," Shawny said.
The next time we see Dancing Shawny will be at Game 3 of the Stanly Cup Finals.
