At 2:20 a.m. on Friday, County Police responded to a home in the 1200 block of Terra Hill Drive, in the Woods Edge Apartments, for a report of a home invasion that just occurred.
The responding officers found a 24-year-old woman who reported she had just been robbed and sexually assaulted inside her apartment.
According to police, the victim was sleeping in her bed and was startled when she woke to find a man standing over her who was armed with a handgun. The man pointed the weapon at the victim and demanded money.
Moments later, he forced her into another room in the home where he sexually assaulted her before stealing cash and fleeing from the residence.
The suspect is described as a thin, dark toned black male in his late 20's, about 6' tall and about 180 pounds.
