Omar Sharif Cash was convicted last week in the May, 2008 killing of Edgar Rosas-Gutierrez in Bensalem and the rape of Rosas-Gutierrez's girlfriend.
Cash faced the death penalty, but the jury was deadlocked on that issue.
Police said Cash carjacked the couple outside a Philadelphia nightclub then forced Rosas-Gutierrez to drive out of town. Cash raped the woman in the back seat before ordering Rosas-Gutierrez out of the car and shooting him in the head.
The woman later escaped at a New Jersey motel.
