Driver arrested after pickup runs down man in Del.

GLASGOW, DELAWARE - June 3, 2010

Bryan M. Brochu, 33, of Goosemar Road in North East, Maryland was arrested on Wednesday night.

Delaware State Police say he was the driver who ran down a 39-year-old man in the parking lot of Peoples Plaza Shopping Center around 2:00 a.m. Wednesday.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released, but police say he is also from North East, Maryland.

The shopping center is located near the intersection of Routes 40 and 896 in Glasgow.

Police say Brochu and the suspect know each other. Investigators say they got into a dispute inside McGlynn's Pub and, after leaving the bar, Brochu allegedly got into his vehicle and drove off.

Police say he then came back toward the victim and two others who were standing in the parking lot, striking and running over the victim.

After striking the victim, the pickup kept on going until it jumped a sidewalk and crashed into a pillar.

Brochu was formally arraigned on a charge of Attempted Murder and bail was set at $150,000.
