2 boys hospitalized after separate near-drowning incidents

NORTH WILDWOOD - June 5, 2010

The first incident occurred at the Chateu Bleu Motel at 10th and Surf Avenues around 6:30 p.m.

Police say a 5-year-old boy went underwater and had to be rescued by a relative.

The boy, who was alert and conscious after the rescue, is being treated at Cape Regional Medical Center.

Less than an hour later, another rescue call came in, this time at a pool at a private residence in the 2500 block of Central Avenue.

There, a 4-year-old boy was pulled from the pool by a family member.

That boy, who was breathing after being pulled from the pool, is also being treated at the Cape Regional Medical Center.

Police say both incidents appear accidental.
