Swallows decide to go more upscale

CHINO HILLS, Calif. (AP) - June 7, 2010

For decades thousands of the birds have returned to the Mission San Juan Capistrano in Southern California.

But this year, many of the birds flew past the historic church to make their nests at a five-star country club.

Travis Blaylock, of the Vellano Country Club, tells The Orange County Register it's like they went and told all their friends about a great new spot to nest.

Country club officials note the birds, and their mess, are away from the clubhouse main entrance and the dining patio.
