Eight minor injuries in Del. school bus crash

WILMINGTON, Del. - June 8, 2010

It happened around 8:30 a.m. at 4th and Franklin streets.

Police say the bus was struck broadside by an SUV driven by 29 year old Filimon Olivera of Piedmont, South Carolina.

The students were headed to Shortlidge Academy, a K-5 school, in the Red Clay School District.

According to a district spokesperson seven children and the driver were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

This accident remains under investigation.

Olivera was issued a summons for disregarding a red light and no proof of insurance.
