A motorcyclist has now died after crashing his bike in northern Delaware.

The accident happened along the 4600 block of Governor Printz Boulevard shortly after 7:00 p.m. Thursday night.

Authorities say the motorcyclist, Wilbert Miller, 26, of Wilmington, was travelling at a high rate of speed and struck a curb while turning. He was thrown an estimated 100 feet.

Medics rushed the Miller, who was wearing a helmet, to Christiana Medical Center for treatment.

What remained of the motorcycle caught fire and had to be extinguished.

Police said there was a fake tag on the motorcycle, Miller's license was suspended and he didn't have a Delaware motorcycle endorsement.

Police are continuing their investigation.
