Downingtown Area School District officials say the accident happened at about 3:50 p.m. Wednesday in Upper Uwchlan Township.
They say the Pickering Valley Elementary School student was taken to A.I. Dupont Children's Hospital in Delaware in critical condition.
Officials say township police and emergency personnel cared for the other children on the bus until their parents arrived.
The cause of the accident has not been determined.
