Man stabbed, child struck by car

WEST PHILADELPHIA - June 19, 2010

The stabbing occurred at the intersection of 54th and Berks streets in West Philadelphia.

Reports say a man was with his child when he was stabbed by the suspect.

The stabbing victim then ran away from the suspect and his child followed, which is when the child was struck by car.

It is not known if the striking vehicle stopped at the scene.

The child was transported to Lankenau Hospital in stable condition.

The stabbing victim was transported to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania for a stab wound to his hand. He is also in stable condition.

Police are searching for a male suspect. He was last seen wearing a yellow polo, blue jeans and white shoes.
