Pa. councilman charged with molesting boy

CHALFONT, Pa. - June 23, 2010

William Kuder, 48, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with the 2002 crime.

Police say Kuder lured the boy into his home, promising to help him fix a computer.

Kuder then fondled the boy and attempted to engage him in oral sex, police said.

The child escaped but didn't tell anyone about the alleged attack for years. Investigators say it finally came to light when the boy confided in his sister back in April.

Police said that's when they launched an investigation, and gathered evidence to support the boy's story. They did not detail what that evidence was.

Kuder is charged with attempted involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and indecent assault. If convicted, he could face more than five years in prison.

He was released on $100,000 unsecured bail.
