Atlantic City Electric said about 4,400 customers, mostly in Camden County, still didn't have power as of 1 p.m. But crews remained out in force across the region, and the utility said all customers were expected to have their service back by sometime Sunday night.
The wicked storms - which contained heavy rains, strong winds and lightning - knocked down or snapped numerous trees and power lines on Thursday and damaged several utility poles.
They also damaged the utility's electrical system, forcing it to stage a controlled outage in some areas Friday afternoon so repairs could be made.
