Authorities say 38-year-old Amy Locane-Bovenizer of Hopewell collided with a car turning into a driveway in Montgomery Township, about 10 miles north of Princeton, at about 9:15 p.m. Sunday.

The car's passenger, Helene Seeman, was killed. The driver, Fred Seeman, was hospitalized in critical condition.

Acting Somerset County Prosecutor A. Peter DeMarco Jr. said responding officers detected the odor of alcohol on Locane-Bovenizer's breath and arrested her.

She is charged with vehicular homicide and assault by auto and is being held at the Somerset County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail. The prosecutor's office did not say if she had retained a lawyer.

According to her IMDB entry, Locane appeared in 13 episodes of the 1992 version of Melrose Place as a character named "Sandy Louise Harling."
