Mrs. Fixit: Wet Saw

July 18, 2010

Before you rent the saw, make yourself a layout and a plan for the space, no sense in paying for the rental if you're not sure what to do with it.

Once you know the cuts, prep the saw. You will need to fill the saw's reservoir with cool water to the recommended level.

The saw will pump water around the tile and the blade to keep the saw cutting smoothly and prevent the tile and the saw from heating up.

Then pull on some safety glasses to protect your eyes from any pieces of tile that may chip off and fly away from the saw. Also, always be aware of where your hands are in replation to that blade!

One key to making sure that you get smooth cuts is not to force the tile, don't push hard or try to force the cut, gently guide your tile through the saw and let the blade do the work.

As you can see this tool is worth the rental cost for a big tiling project! I'm Mrs. Fixit and it's just that simple!
