Trucks stopped by police on I-95 in Phila.

SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA - June 30, 2010

It took place in the area of the Philadelphia International Airport at Exit 13.

Pennsylvania State troopers teamed up with local and federal agencies to conduct inspections.

They were looking for more than just safety problems - they were looking for drugs.

If troopers had suspicions about what trucks were carrying, they passed the inspection onto customs agents armed with a specialized scanning machine.

The I-95 corridor is notorious for being a main artery in the transport of drugs.

"If nothing else it deters drug traffickers and the movement of narcotics and illegal contraband," said Sgt. Shawn Toboz.

There were no big hauls on Wednesday, but there were some arrests.

Troopers tell Action News that some of the truck drivers were taken in on suspicion of DUI and drug possession.
