The 12-inch main break happened around 6:45 Thursday morning at the intersection of the Roosevelt Boulevard and Southampton Road.
Chopper 6 was high over the scene as water could be seen gushing up several feet from two manhole covers.
The outer lanes of the northbound Roosevelt Boulevard at Southampton Road are closed.
If you are traveling on Southampton Road, you can't cross over the Boulevard. The water department is working with Penndot to try and get at least one lane open on Southampton Road.
Some residents temporarily lost water but access has since been regained.
