Robber busted with flash drives and body wash

WILMINGTON, Del. - July 10, 2010

Delaware State Police say the robbery happened Friday night along Kirkwood Highway in Wilmington just before 11 p.m. The robber fled south toward Saint James Church Road.

Two men in the store told police they saw a man having trouble walking in the store, and they thought he had items concealed in his pants. They confronted the man and tried to get him to empty his pants, but Johnson pulled a box cutter from his pocket and threatened the men. Johnson fled across Kirkwood Highway toward Saint James Church Road until apprehended by Troopers.

Troopers stopped a person fitting the robber's description sitting by a payphone at the corner of Kirkwood Highway and Saint James Church Road. He was searched and police found the items stolen from Rite Aid: a silver box cutter along with two flash drives and 16 bottles of body wash was recovered valued at $153.

The suspect was identified as Shuron J. Johnson, 37 of Newark, Delaware.

Johnson is charged with: Robbery First degree; Possession of a Deadly Weapon during the Commission of a Felony; 2 counts Aggravated Menacing ; Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Person Prohibited.
