Drenching ends dry spell; causes damage

July 10, 2010

Heavy downpours flooded numerous roads across our area.

In Narberth, Lower Merion, flooding washed out the edge of Old Gulph Road at Mill Creek Road and part of the pavement collapsed into the creek.

There were other trouble spots as well.

The strong storms caused major flooding along the Schuylkill Expressway Saturday afternoon. The Action News traffic camera caught the scene of the eastbound lanes near the South Street exit. PennDOT had to close the road to traffic for a short time and divert it onto the Vine Street Expressway to drain the water.
