Jersey shore restaurant damaged by fire

Officials are investigating a two alarm fire that damaged a popular Jersey Shore restaurant.

The fire broke out in the kitchen area of Gregory's Restaurant in the 900 block of Shore Road in Somers Point just after 10:00 p.m. Thursday.

Firefighters say smoke was showing from the kitchen area.

Restaurant patrons were evacuated.

The fire was brought under control within an hour.

No injuries were reported.

According to Gregory's Restaurant, the Board of Health has cleared them to reopen today.

The restaurant will open at noon for cocktails and hope to be open for food by 2:30pm.
