Seaford police department spokesman Capt. Gary Flood says the rape happened at about 12:30 a.m. Monday. Flood says the woman was walking in the area and a man hit her several times before sexually assaulting her.
Police say the victim was treated at a hospital and staffers reported the rape to police. They say the man is in his 40s and was wearing jeans, a white T-shirt and a baseball cap during the incident.
