Crash closes stretch of Pa. Turnpike

LANSDALE, Pa. - July 30, 2010

Around 4:30 Friday morning, the two big rigs collided on the southbound lanes of the turnpike, about 4 miles south of the Lansdale interchange.

Only minor injuries were reported.

The crash happened where traffic begins to enter a construction zone.

The accident forced police and cleanup teams to close both southbound lanes in the area for about 3 hours.

People looking for other ways around the accident scene caused jams on nearby routes 309, 63 and 202.
