Missing man's body found in Abington Hospital dumpster

ABINGTON, Pa. - August 1, 2010

Police are now investigating the death as a possible suicide.

They believe the man, found inside a dumpster on the hospital grounds Sunday morning, is the same person who was reported missing to Lower Moreland police on Friday.

On Friday July 30th, 27-year-old Jason Schnarr of the 2300 block of Huntingdon Pike in Huntingdon Valley was reported missing. The investigation led to the discovery of Schnarr's vehicle on the grounds of Abington Memorial Hospital later that same day.

Police searched the hospital grounds for Schnarr, prompting a temporary lockdown at the hospital on Friday, but he never turned up.

Police then put a trace on his cell phone, leading them to the dumpster and Schnarr's body late Saturday night.

Police are continuing their investigation.
