The assault happened at 6:15 a.m. Sunday at the bus stop near the corner of West State and North Warren streets.
A woman sitting at the bus stop was approached by a man with a gun. He forced the woman to walk with him to a nearby alley where he made her perform oral sex. He then fled the scene.
The victim was taken to St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton for treatment.
The suspect is described as a black male wearing a white t-shirt and a white wrap on his head.
Police say there was an attempted attack on another woman Saturday afternoon not that far from where Sunday's incident took place. In that case, a woman was walking home from work around 4:30 p.m. along West State Street when she said a man began following her.
The man came up to the woman and grabbed her neck. A passerby exited a building, distracting the suspect long enough for the victim to break free. The suspect continued his pursuit of the woman, but by this time, she was able to retrieve mace and threatened to use it on the man, so he fled.
The suspect in the second instance is described as a 5'6" tall black male, around 20 to 27 years of age and weighing about 140 to 165 pounds with possibly a tear drop tattoo near one eye.
There is no indication at this time that the two incidents are related.
