Police say Maryland resident Jessica K. Sachse was walking on Coastal Highway in Dewey Beach on Sunday around 1 a.m. when she stumbled into the roadway. She was then hit by a car.
Officials took Sachse to a hospital and treated her for non life threatening head injuries. She was charged with being drunk on a highway and failure to carry a light on a public roadway. The driver of the vehicle that hit Sachse was not injured or charged.
