14-year-old shot and killed in N. Phila. identified

NORTH PHILADELPHIA - August 11, 2010

The deadly shooting happened around 11:15 Tuesday night at Seventh and Clearfield streets.

Someone opened fire on a 14-year-old boy, identified as Jerome Carlyle of the 3100 block of North Sheridan Street, wounding him in the chest and groin.

He later died at Saint Christopher's Hospital for Children.

A 15-year-old boy was shot just before midnight outside a house on the 1500 block of North 19th Street.

Neighbors told police they heard a rapid series of shots fired.

The teenager was rushed to the hospital with a bullet wound to the chest.

He is in stable condition.

At around 11:00 on Tuesday night, two teenagers, ages 17 and 18, were shot along the 2100 block of Dauphin Street.

The 17-year-old boy was shot in the back. The 18-year-old was shot in the leg.

The hospital has not yet released their exact conditions, but each of them were trauma patients when they were admitted.

So far, police have not indicated if they have motives or suspects for any of the shootings.
