$55K worth of cash, jewelry taken in home invasion

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA - August 24, 2010

At 9:16 a.m. Tuesday officers were called out to a home on the 900 block of Unruh Avenue for the report of a home invasion.

When police arrived, they were told that two males bound a couple inside of the home with duct tape. The couple, a 46-year-old male and a 43-year-old female were robbed. The man was pistol whipped and transported to Aria Health Torresdale Campus for treatment.

There was a 3-year-old child in the home at the time of the robbery. The child was unharmed.

Taken was a Camcorder, 2 laptops, $5,000 cash, $50,000 worth of jewelry from a safe and 2010 black Toyota Corrola.

Anyone with information about the identity or whereabouts of the suspects is asked to contact police.
