Surveillance released of donut shop armed robbery

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA - August 27, 2001

Reports say the suspect entered the store and pulled out a large gun in a semi-clear plastic bag.

He demanded everyone to get on the ground, including a child, while he attempted to gain entry through an iron gate that leads to the back of the store.

He was apparently unsuccessful and then demanded the owner and one patron in the store to throw their money on the floor.

The suspect took about $238 and left the store while reportedly yelling, "It's not about you. It's about the Koreans."

Police say the suspect pointed the gun at the owner during the robbery. There were no injuries.

Police are searching for a male in his 30's about 5'8"- 5'10" with a tall, thin build.

He was last seen wearing all black capris and long sleeve shirt. He also had a black cloth covering his face and head. He had grey sneakers with a wide strip on the side and was carrying a black satchel with one strap.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
