Video game store robbed with machete

WILMINGTON, Del. - August 30, 2010

It happened around 5:25 p.m. Sunday at the Game Stop at 2074 Naaman's Road in Wilmington.

Police say Sergio Vega, 24, of Wilmington, walked into the store armed with the machete and ordered four customers and two employees to the floor.

He allegedly then ordered the employees to open the cash registers and give him the money.

Police say Vega then fled the store in a white Mercury Marquis which was being driven by 47-year-old Terri Patrick of Wilmington.

However, as they were making their getaway, an unidentified witness followed them while calling 911.

Police pulled over the Mercury on Marsh Road at Baynard Boulevard. Vega tried to run away, police said, but he was quickly captured.

While police were chasing Vega, they say Patrick managed to get away on foot. She remains at large.

She is described as a black woman, about 5'6" tall and weighing 185 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call State Police Troop 2 at 302-834-2630 ext. 6 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.

Vega was arraigned and committed to the Henry Young Correctional Institution for lack of $120,000 secured bail.
