Victim ID'd, suspect arrested in SW Philly stabbing

A man has been arrested in the stabbing of a woman early Monday morning in Southwest Philadelphia.

James Joshua Stokes, 37, of the 1200 block of South Peach Street was arrested for the murder of Stephanie Clory, 45, of the 5400 block of Regent Street.

Police say it was shortly after midnight when officers were called to the 1200 block of South Peach Street for a report of a person with a weapon.

When they arrived, they found a blood trail that led them from the home to where Clory was lying on the sidewalk.

Police say she had multiple stab wounds to her face, chest and back.

Medics pronounced hear dead at 12:06 a.m.

Stokes was arrested for the murder the same day.

Stokes is charged with Murder and Possessing an Instrument of Crime.
