Police were dispatched at 2:53 a.m. to D Street and Allegheny Avenue in the city's Kensington section where they found a man injured after being struck by a car.
The victim, only described as a man in his 60's, was transported to Temple University Hospital where he is listed in serious condition.
Police say the striking vehicle is described as a small compact car.
