During SpaFinder Deal Days Wellness Week, spas like Lux Spa and Fitnessat the Omni Hotel in Old City are offering services for just $50. Here, you can choose among the Lux Combination Massage, the Men's Massage and Pure Focus Facial, or the Arnica and Rosemary Muscle Melt Massage. Other participating spas are offering 50% discounts on everything from waxing to glycolic peels.
"It's really just a chance to get out there and sample these spa packages," explains Lux's Tiffany Bucciarelli.
She adds that even when the economy's tight, massages and other spa treatments shouldn't just be considered luxuries.
"Stress relief is extremely important, pretty much the same as eating a proper diet and doing your daily exercise routine," she explains. "Stress relief is one of those three components and unfortunately I think people see it as more of a luxury, than a necessity. So, in the spa business, we really try to change the customer's point of view that this really is a necessity, and it really needs to be part of the triangle of exercise, nuturition and stress relief."
She adds, though, that many clients are taking advantage of things like Deal Days, or coupon offers, to keep the costs of spa treatments manageable.
"We're seeing that our marketing is changing, the way that we're marketing our business, but consumers are just changing the way that they're buying," she says.
