Police: Man crashed 2 stolen cars, tried to lure kids

LOWER PROVIDENCE, Pa. - September 15, 2010

The series of events started as a reported domestic disturbance around 8:30 Wednesday morning on the 1000 block of Ivy Lane in Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania.

The suspect allegedly took a vehicle from a neighbor and was then involved in a three-vehicle accident on the 1100 block of N. Keim Street.

He fled that accident on foot, tried to kick in the door of a nearby property but failed. Police say he then stole an unlocked red Ford Mustang, fleeing east on Ridge Pike into Limerick.

Police say, as he was in the Mustang, he tried to lure school children into his car, but was unsuccessful.

The man was pursued by Limerick Police into Lower Providence. He eventually crashed the Mustang into a pole in front of Eagle Pool and Spa, located at 3246 Ridge Pike in Lower Providence.

The suspect jumped out of the wrecked Mustang and made a run for it. The police arrested him after a brief foot chase.

The accident caused a power outage that shutdown the power to Eagleville Elementary School.

Ridge Pike was closed between East Mount Kirk Avenue and Level Road due to a pole down after that accident.
