Cassandra Jones of Marydel was riding the ATV on her grandfather's property Wednesday about 4:15 p.m. Police say when the vehicle flipped backward, Cassandra's head struck the asphalt driveway and she became pinned between the ATV and the driveway.
Her grandfather found her, and she was taken to Kent General Hospital in Dover, where she was pronounced dead.
Troopers say she was not wearing a helmet.
