Cell phone purchase leads to child porn arrest

MEDIA, Pa. - September 17, 2010

Police say Michael Natale, 43, of Collingdale, is charged with seven counts of possession of child pornography.

Investigators say they were alerted by a worker at a cell phone store in the Christiana Mall in Newark, Delaware on August 11th.

Officers learned that Natale bought a new iPhone, and wanted the content transferred to it from his BlackBerry phone.

While an employee was working on that request, he told police he saw what appeared to be child pornography.

That employee took pictures with his own cell phone for evidence, police said, and gave both the iPhone and BlackBerry back to Natale.

Police were notified and, on Thursday, police served a search warrant at Natale's home in Collingdale.

Investigators say Natale admitted to having the images on his phones.

Natala was arrested and sent to George Hill Correctional Facility after failing to post 10% of $100,000 bail.
