Two fires in Camden Co. under investigation

WATERFORD, N.J. - September 19, 2010

The first blaze broke out around 1:30 a.m. in a vacant two story office building on the White Horse Pike at Atco Avenue in Waterford.

That fire raced through the building and left it in ruins. The blaze caused traffic problems on the White Horse Pike as police were forced to close the road in both directions for fire trucks. There were no injuries reported.

About an hour later firefighters in nearby Lindenwold were called out to a strip mall in the 500 block of Blackwood-Clementon Road where a passing motorist noticed a fire at Classy Nails.

There firefighters found someone had thrown a flammable substance at the front door of the business.

Firefighters quickly arrived and extinguished the blaze before it could spread.

Authorities tell Action News they are investigating both blazes but that it is too early to tell if they are connected.
