Police: Del. serial bank robber caught

GLASGOW, Del. (AP) - September 26, 2010

Police say 37-year-old Scott Ginegaw of Newark robbed the Applied Bank in the Four Seasons Shopping Center in Glasgow on Thursday afternoon, giving a teller a holdup note and getting away with some cash.

But a New Castle County police officer spotted Ginegaw's truck an hour later and he was arrested. Police say a search of Ginegaw's truck turned up evidence linking him to robberies at banks in Christiana, Prices Corner and Glasgow and three robberies at one bank in Bear since June. According to court records, Ginegaw acknowledged committing all six robberies.

Police say Ginegaw used demand notes that usually read, "Put Money In Bag. Loose Bills Only" and took a total of $6,339 from the various tellers.
