Police: Woman struck by SEPTA bus dies

NORTH PHILADELPHIA - September 30, 2010

Investigators did not release the woman's name after she was struck Thursday evening by a Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority bus.

Police say the woman may have been running to catch the bus as it pulled away. Authorities say she was struck by the side of the bus and pulled underneath. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported. About 20 passengers were on the bus at the time.

SEPTA says its investigating the incident.
