House explodes in western Pennsylvania, injuring 1

ATWOOD, Pa. (AP) - October 1, 2010

Authorities in Armstrong County say the person was inside the home in the Pittsburgh suburb of Atwood when it exploded shortly before 4 p.m. Friday.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that firefighters responded and the injured person was flown to the hospital. The victim's identity and condition are unknown.

Fire crews had the blaze under control shortly after 4:30 p.m.

The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
