Biden spokesman Jason Miller said in an e-mail Monday that the attorney general's office is sending a letter to mortgage banks this week requesting the moratorium.
Biden also plans to ask for detailed information about the lenders' foreclosure review and verification process, as well as complaints from Delaware homeowners about court documents that contained inaccurate information, improper notarization or signatures.
At least three banks have halted tens of thousands of foreclosure cases after discovering procedural problems such as employees signing documents without verifying information.
