DRPA trying again on employment restrictions

CAMDEN, N.J. - October 6, 2010

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie vetoed the agency board's last attempt, saying it wasn't tough enough.

Originally, the board tried to bar people who leave the DRPA from working for contractors on projects involving the agency.

A new set of rules to be voted on Wednesday would bar vendors who hire high-ranking DRPA workers from getting DRPA contracts for two years.

The employment issue is one of several reforms the agency has undertaken since July.

The DRPA runs four Philadelphia-area toll bridges and the PATCO commuter train.
